Roy L. Yankey

Roy L. Yankey of St. Charles, MO died Friday 4:50 AM at Blanchette Place Care Center. He was born March 7, 1922 in Rockwood, IL. He will lie in state at Baue Funeral Chapel 3950 West Clay Street from 4:00-8:00 PM Sunday, May 5. Services will be held at Bogey Hills Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Monday with interment in St. Charles Memorial Gardens. Roy served in the Arctic Circle during Workd War II. He married Imogene Yankey December 26, 1944. Six children were born to this marriage: Dale Yankey of Barnhart, MO, Ron Yankey of Simpsonville, KY, Bob Yankey of Crestoowd, KY, Pamela Garstand of St. Charles, MO, Patricia Hobbs of Camdenton, MO and Donna Jean Yankey, who preceded him in death. He worked at McDonnell Aircraft and T.W.A. He had been diabled and failing health for several years. He is survived by 5 children, his loving wife, one brother, Bill Yankey of Chesterfield, IL and two sisters: Josephine Lang of Chesterfield, IL and Rose Mercier of Rockford, IL, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and a host of relative and friends.
