Roy Rodgers

Roy G. Rodgers, passed January14, 2013 at 6:50pm at home in Wright City, MO. Roy was born 20, January, 1936 in Essex, Stoddard Co., MO. He was the son of Opal Floyd and Ellen Louise (Turnage) Rodgers, who proceeded in death. He was united in marriage to Gertie Marie Hartline, April 5, 1958 in Mt. Zion, Stoddard Co., MO. To this union they had 3 children Robert D. Rodgers, Sandra L. and Rodney W. Rodgers. Roy came to St. Louis in 1956 to go to work at McDonnell Douglas. He worked there for 10 years. He went from assembler to supervisor. He left there to go to work for United Postal Service (UPS), where he retired after 30 years. Roy enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He like trains, airplanes, old cars, any thing western, and reading the bible. At one time he was a deacon at his church. He is survived by his wife Marie of Wright City; 2 Sons- Robert and wife (Cathy) of Troy, Mo. Rodney and wife (Stacy) of Collinsville, IL. A daughter, Sandra Gauthier of Houston Alaska, 13 grandchildren, Gina, Jessica, Robert, Jr. (BJ), Cheyenne Lauren, Jesse, Patrick, Amber, Hannah, Joe, Kara, Kaitlyn, and Christopher; 6 great- grandchildren, Sierra, Brianna, Christian, Abbey, Josh and Zac; 1 sister, Patricia Rodgers of Poplar Bluff, MO. And a brother Jack and wife (Melba) Rodgers, of Dexter, MO. And a niece and nephews.
