Loving wife of 55 wonderful years to Luther "Bill" McClellan; beloved daughter of the late Elvin and Norma Kern; devoted mother of David (Sharon) McClellan and Cheryl (Justin) Apperson; cherished grandmother of Amanda McClellan, Connor McClellan, Lilly Apperson, and Olivia (Teddy) Ivanov.
Born in St. Louis, MO, Ruth earned her degree from Lindenwood University and went on to become an Elementary School Teacher at Russell and Black Jack Elementary Schools in the Hazelwood School District. While her children were young she was very active in their lives as a Room Mother, and in the Girl Scouts, and later in life she devoted herself equally as lovingly to her beloved grandchildren. Ruth loved the Spring and Autumn seasons, and loved flowers and working in her garden. She also had a love of animals, especially Dachshunds, and her treasured dog “Sugar”. Ruth will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend to many. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
