Ruth C. Smith

Smith, Ruth C. (nee: Remmenga), of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the age of 63 after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard Smith; children, Allan (Jennifer) Smith and Rachel (Jon) Lay; grandchildren, Joshua and Jonah Lay; sisters, Margaret (George) Wolf, Roswell, NM, Betty (Tom) Jensen, Barnesville, MN, and Barbara Pellerito, Manchester, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents Jacob (Groningen, Holland) and Catherine (Ipswich, England) Remmenga and her brother Bernard Remmenga.
Ruth retired in 2008 from AAA Auto Club after a 20 year career as executive assistant and facilities coordinator. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and her flower garden. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is a member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church.
