Ruth Eileen Gross

Ruth Eileen Gross of St Charles, MO, passed away on November 9, 2017, at the age of 85. She was born on July 30, 1932 in Normal, Illinois to Warren and Grace Yerkes.
Ruth grew up in Homer, IL and graduated from Homer High School in 1950. After high school she attended college in Champaign/Urbana Illinois where she met her future husband. Ruth was a wife, mother and homemaker. She had a lifelong passion for craft-making, and as her children became older she began volunteering as an activities facilitator at Claywest Nursing Home and later was hired there as the Activities Director.
Ruth married Lloyd Winslow Gross in 1953 in Homer Illinois. They were happily married for 62 years and had three children. Ruth and Lloyd had been members of the First United Methodist Church in St Charles where Ruth spent many hours participating in the choir, bell choir, church kitchen and Sunday School activities.
Ruth is survived by her sons Leonard (Kathy) and Bryan (Marcie) Gross and her daughter Diane (Eric) Moyerman; her brother Russell; and her grandchildren Jeremy, Zach, Wesley (Natalia) and Lucyanna Gross. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and sister Eleanor Yerkes Smith.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church of St. Charles, MO or the Alzheimer's Association.
