Ruth Ellen Ell (nee Post) of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday May 30
th, 2021 at the age of 91.
Loving wife of 56 years to the late Anthony “Tony” Ell. Beloved daughter of the Aloysius and Frances Post. Devoted Mother of the late Linda Sue Brackett Larkins; Cathay Angert, Thomas Ell, Joan Cotton, Peggy (George) McKinnies, Judy (Brian) Weaver, Mark (Glenda) Ell, Bob (Donna) Ell and Joe (Shannon) Ell.
Proud grandmother “Nanie” of twenty, great-grandmother of twenty-five, one great-great grandchild, and one more great grandbaby on the way.
Dear sister to Gladys (Ed) Kullman. Cherished aunt, neighbor, friend and nanie to many.
Ruth was preceded in death by her siblings, Alice (Bill) Young and Virgil (Marcella) Post; one son-in-law, Floyd Cotton; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Ruth married the love of her life, Tony, on October 13
th, 1949 and shared fifty-six loving years of marriage.
Ruth was a member of Assumption Catholic Church for seventy years. She volunteered for many activities and committees as well as being a Eucharistic Minister.
As a woman of faith, Ruth’s passion was her church and her family. She loved baking, reading, playing cards, or any types of games. Working in her yard gave her such enjoyment especially in her many flowerbeds.
Most of all her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and nanie to so many grandbabies as well as babies and young children during the 20+ years that she babysat for others in her home.
Ruth always had a smile and kind word for everyone, never complained, and always said “thank you.”
The Ell family would like to thank SSM Hospice of Lake St. Louis for their kindness and sweet care of our mother so she could remain living in her home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s name to

St. Vincent De Paul,
American Leukemia Society, or Masses.
