Ruth Ann Holtgrieve

Ruth Ann “Sally” Holtgrieve (nee Jones), of St. Charles, MO, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Wilbert “Willie” Holtgrieve and cherished daughter of the late Irene and James Jones. She was the devoted mother of Jim (Nancy), Jay (Lorri), and Scott (Paula) Holtgrieve; loving grandmother of Haley, Jacob, Emma, Keegan, Kelsey, Ethan, and Joshua Holtgrieve; dear sister of the late Ann (Ralph) Kuhlmann, the late Robert (Mildred) Spalding, Betty (Orville) Echele and Nina (Otto) Hanslick; dear aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend to many. 

Sally's life was defined by her deep love for her family, her commitment to helping others, and her infectious giggle. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 50 years, a loving mother to her three boys and a proud grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She cherished her siblings immensely and treasured their close-knit bond. Nieces and nephews were always in her thoughts, even if miles separated them. 

Sally was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and an avid card and Bingo player. She enjoyed hosting family and friends for card games whenever she could, always making sure there were plenty of snacks to go around. Sally will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Sally’s life well lived is being planned for a future date.
