Ruth M. Owens

wens, Ruth M., of O Fallon, Missouri, died on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the age of 91. Loving wife of the late Columbus Owens; beloved daughter of the late Louis A. and Bertha C. Gevers; devoted mother of Carol (Gary) Schreiner, Diane (Joe) Turner, and Andy (Lori) Owens; cherished grandmother of Robin (Frank) Ford, Oliver Ryan (Melissa) Matheny, Katie (Joseph) Krietemeyer, Jodie (Brian) Smith, Andrew Owens, and Austin Owens; treasured great-grandmother of Courtney, Kyle, Luke, Sydney, Tyler, Quinn, and Owen; dear sister of Edward (Mary) Gevers and Alan (Carolyn) Gevers. Ruth is survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Louis A. (Betty) Gevers, Jr. and sister Laverne (Glen) Beckham. She was employed at Bernedette Business Forms as a Bindery Supervisor, and then at Gevers Heating & Air Conditioning as a Bookkeeper. Ruth loved to do counted cross-stitch of clocks and other pictures. She also enjoyed embroidering quilts and baking cookies (especially Christmas cookies with the grandkids). In her younger years, she participated in bowling leagues, and enjoyed going to Cardinals and Blues games or watching them on TV.
