Ruth Ann Smith

Ruth Ann Smith (nee Vogt), of Saint Peters, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Richard L. Smith; cherished daughter of the late Carl and Hermina Vogt; devoted mother of Richard (Joyce) Smith, Sr., Kim (Mark) Oliver, and Rae (Gary) Beste; loving grandmother of Tracy (Jeff) Junte, Richard Smith, Jr., Justin (Jen) Oliver, Brian Oliver, Daniel (partner Shaundra Ward) Beste, and Benjamin (Jessica) Beste; precious great grandmother of Allison, Caroline, Jacob, Rebecca, Daniel, Jr., and Donovan; dear sister of CJ (Jane) Vogt; aunt and friend. Ruth was also preceded in death by her sisters, Imogene (The late Carl) Vinke, and Elta (The late Richard) Zaleuke, and two brothers, Melvin (the late Velma) Vogt, and Ralph (the late Theresa) Vogt.
After 15 years of service, Ruth retired from Boeing on January 14, 1999. She loved to attend monthly luncheons with her class reunion group. Ruth was a delicious cook and baker and enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved playing cards and playing poker, indulging in games like bingo and trying her luck at slot machines. Ruth's warm and affectionate nature endeared her to everyone who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt by those who loved her dearly.

Memorials may be made in Ruth's name to American Cancer Society and Arthritis Foundation.
