Salvatore R. Romeo

Romeo, Salvatore R., of St. Charles, MO, died on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the age of 83.

Beloved husband of the late Martha “Marty” Romeo (née: Knoblauch); devoted father of Ronald (Wendy) Romeo, Rose Trupiano, David (Candy) Romeo, John Romeo, Jean Romeo, and Anita Holtkamp; loving grandpa of 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and dear brother of Richard (Helen) Romeo. Sal is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Frank Romeo Sr.; and his sister, Jennifer Kinmann.




Sal proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He served with distinction, was wounded in combat, and was awarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice. He then went on to work for McDonnell Douglas as a General Foreman, working on the F-16, for over 32 years. He was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church for many years. He was also a 3^rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 823 of St. Charles, and an active member of the American Legion Post 312 of St. Charles. He enjoyed working with flowers and gardening, and was especially proud of his garden on his deck. Sal was a nature lover, a bird watcher, and an avid card player. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Sal was a great man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
