Sam James Neal, Jr., 74, of St. Charles, MO was born in Claiborne, Mississippi on September 30, 1945. He was the eleventh child and the only boy to the union of Sam James Neal and Arie Robinson. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his sisters Lorraine and Evelyn.
Sam graduated from Vashon High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon graduation from Vashon High School, Sam Neal was drafted into the US Army from 1966-1972 where he served in the Vietnam war. After returning from the armed services Sam held an important career as a supervisor and plant foreman at Chrysler where he diligently served for 34 years from 1968 -2002.
On October 2, 1982, Sam Neal united in holy matrimony with Sirvonue Neal (Perkins). Sam attended Church on the Rock where he was an active, engaged and faithful member until his passing. He was a dedicated person who deeply loved family, friends, conversation and was a good person to be around. He was a leader, mentor, a wealth of knowledge and a strong pillar of strength for everyone that knew him.
Sam departed this life on the evening of Tuesday, April 7, 2020. He leaves a loving family behind to cherish his memory, loving wife, Sirvonue Neal; two sons, Andra Wishom of Sunnyside, New York and Sam J. Neal Jr. of San Luis Obispo, California; one daughter Masani Lewis (Vincent) of Tampa, Florida; and three grandchildren, Kennedy Coleman, CJ Coleman and Sammie Wishom. Sam also leaves to cherish in his memory five sisters, Ida, Laura, Arie (Bill), Fannie (John) and Lois as well as a host of brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
