Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist South, St. Charles. Shirley C. Ward (nee: Hawkins), of St. Peters, Missouri, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the age of 73. Dearest wife of Ernest Ward; dear daughter of the late Elmer and Verneal Hawkins; loving mother of Cameron Ernest Ward (Deceased), Karen (Lloyd) Holley, Nancy (Scott) Dirkers-B'Jorseth and her adopted son, Robert Koenig; beloved grandmother of Jessica (Mike) Griffon, Crystal (Brian) Burke, Ashley (Jose) Mares, Timothy Holley and Alex Dirkers, great-grandmother of Cora, Wyatt, Morelia, Gavin, Jose, Emiliano, Austin and Reilly; dear sister-in-law of Vesta Hawkins. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Hawkins and grandson, Garrett B'Jorseth. Shirley was employed as a Cashier at Thies Farm and Greenhouses for 32 years. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Muegge Road.
