Family was very important to Shirley. She cherished being a grandmother and she was very active in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley was very involved in church and was a member of First Baptist St. Charles. She enjoyed working with her hands making quilts, embroidery, or digging in the dirt of her garden. She was a fabulous baker and was best known for her apple pastry square but had something special she made for each and every member of the family. She and Ralph camped together often, but she mostly loved to travel all over the United States, visiting family, and to Europe. Shirley was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
