Shirley Jo Dryden (nee Jeffries), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the age of 87. Loving wife of William "Bill" Joseph Dryden; beloved daughter of the late Curtis Roscoe and Bernice Jeffries; devoted mother of the late Joseph Allen Dryden, the late David Lynn Dryden, Gina Marie (Larry) Shephard, and Ronda Kaye (the late David Ray) Wiechens; cherished Mema of Marci, Dan (Maria), Kristin (RJ), and DJ (Angela); treasured great-grandmother (Mema) of Micayla, Levi, Wyatt, Ella, James, Brayden, Emmy, Melissa, and Lorelai; dear sister of Johnny (Jolene), and preceded in death by her siblings, Etta Mae, Billy, Norman, and Steven. Shirley is also survived by her beloved pet, Joe Jo.
Shirley was an Elder at Elsberry Christian Church and St. Charles Christian Church. She was Chairman of Worship Committee with Marcia Hill and held many executive positions with Women’s Christian Fellowship. She spent time volunteering at Null School on the playground and reading.
Shirley was married for almost 72 years to the love of her life, Bill. She loved to spend time outdoors on the farm growing strawberries, green beans and many other vegetables. Shirley enjoyed spending time on the river. She loved to go line dancing and country western dancing. Shirley was a talented seamstress and was the costume seamstress for the Sugarettes. She also coached the Color Guard. Shirley was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Shirley's name to the Humane Society of Missouri.
