Shirley Jean Sweeney

Shirley Jean Sweeney (nee Nichols), of Ferguson, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 90. Loving wife of the late Myle E. Sweeney, Sr.; beloved daughter of the late Stephen Nichols and Anna McGill; devoted mother of James (Sherry) Ouellette, Kathryn (Alan) Maryan, Myles E. (Sherry) Sweeney, Jr., Michael Sweeney, and Gary (Cherish) Sweeney; cherished grandmother of eleven, great-grandmother of fifteen, and great-great grandmother of four; dear sister of Joan Matthews; and is also survived by her extended family & friends. Shirley is also preceded in death by her daughters, Anne Statiroudis and Patricia Pittsenbarger.

Shirley was a devout Catholic, attending mass and church groups regularly. She was a collector of Precious Moments figurines. Shirley enjoyed traveling to see her family and friends from east to west and over to Europe, she was especially fond of cruising. She also loved playing games, cards, etc.  Shirley was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Shirley's name to American Cancer Society.
