Shirley M. Anglin

November 2, 1931 — March 27, 2021

Shirley M. Anglin (Nee: Boehm) passed away at Delmar Gardens O’Fallon on March 27, 2021. Shirley was born November 2, 1931 in St. Louis to Irene (Nee: Lower) and Frank Boehm II. She was one of three children born to Frank and Irene.

Shirley attended St. Boniface Catholic elementary school and then Note Dame High School. She married Joseph Lydon Anglin in 1951. To their union one son was born, Terrence Joseph Anglin, in 1953. Joe preceded her in death in 2004 after 53 years of marriage.

Shirley and Joe were active in the St. Matthias Catholic Church, located in Mehlville, Men’s and Ladies Society with Shirley being President in 1967. The later moved to Arnold, where they continued their involvement with St. David’s Catholic Church. In 1973, Shirley enrolled at Meramec Community College. She earned her degree as a registered nurse. She worked for many years at the St. Anthony Hospital emergency room.

After Joe’s retirement from McDonnell Douglas, Shirley left nursing and they embraced retirement life. They cherished the time spent with their two grandsons, attending sports and social events and any event in which the boys were involved. They enjoyed travel and entertaining. Shirley loved to cook and Joe was great at the grill. After Joe passed, Shirley continued her activities at St. David’s until moving to Delmar Gardens.

Shirley is survived by her son, Terry, daughter-in-law Denise Weeks Anglin, brothers Gerry (Karen) and Frank Boehm III, grandsons Chris and Scott Anglin and cousin, Joyce (Jerry) Greenstreet Muinos, and many nieces and nephews.

Per Shirley’s wishes her body was donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine. A mass in her honor will be said at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shirley’s name to the Salvation Army of St. Louis.
