Solomon William Cantin of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at the age of 80. Loving husband of Ann Cantin; beloved son of the late Abraham and Rose Cantin; devoted father of Stuart (Jackie) Cantin, Tracy (Anthony) Pullo, Nicole (Jason) Frye, Samantha Knudtson, and the late Ava Comito; Proud Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and dear uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
Solomon dedicated more than 40 years to the insurance industry before retiring to pursue his passions of car shopping, returning watches to Shop NBC, and counting down the days until he was eligible for a new iPhone. He loved electronics and finding the next hottest item in town before anyone else. He adored his family and vacationing to warm islands and tropical beaches; and, even after convincing hotel staff to upgrade his room, he still never hesitated to end every vacation early.
Solomon was incredibly generous and had a heart of gold when it came to his children, and they will each remember being his favorite. His personality was larger than life and he would light up a room with his charisma and conversation. This charming laugh-factory was dearly loved and will be fiercely missed by all who knew him.
Private services were held by the family to honor Solomon’s well-lived life and Jewish heritage.
