Stanley J. Bartell

Stanley Joseph Bartell, born Aug 31, 1932.  Stanley passed away on Dec 28, 2020.  Beloved husband for 68 years of Joyce A. Bartell (nee, Baldwin); loving father of Sharon K. (James) Osterholt, Stanley K. (Patricia) Bartell, Vicki L. (Ronald) Stogsdill, and Sandra J. (Gary) Eldridge; loving grandfather of Angela M. Mason, Kelly M. Barnes, Ronald D. Stogsdill II, Matthew B. Smitherman, Amy C. Jones, Andrew J. Bartell, and Melissa A. Bartell; loving great grandfather and great-great grandfather.  Stanley served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 44 years.  He will be forever in our hearts.

Most of all, Stan loved spending time with his wife, Joyce, his family, and close friends.  He loved having a good time.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music (played the accordion and guitar), and watching sports on TV.  Stan and Joyce traveled to many casinos and enjoyed going on cruises.  Sanibel Island was one of their favorite destinations.  Stan enjoyed good cigars and nips of good brandy.  After retiring, Stan always read the newspaper, took up wood carving, cooking, going to movies, taking walks, and liked going out to dinner.
