Stella Hollander nee Denningmann. 86, of St. Charles died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Senior Living Center in St. Charles. She was born March 31, 1924 in Orchard Farm, MO. Mrs. Hollander was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony “Tony” Hollander, her parents Edith and Harold Denningmann, her brother, Hubert Denningmann, and her granddaughter Katy Maureen Giessman. She is survived by her daughters, Marsha Parker and Michelle Giessman, her sons-in-law Bob Giessman and Ron Parker, grandchildren Beau and Ben Giessman and Briane (Giessman) Sprengnether, her husband, John, and three great grandchildren Brooklyn Michelle Giessman, Ellie Isabelle Giessman, and Bryn Stella Sprengnether. She was a Deputy Circuit Clerk for the 11th Judicial Circuit Court and retired from that position in December 1989. In addition, she was also the first president of the Knights of Columbus Council 823 Ladies’ Auxiliary as well as a member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus. For a number of years, Mrs. Hollander chaired the Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy phone bank in St. Charles and volunteered her time for St. Joseph Hospital and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Memorial Service 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Baue Funeral Home Chapel, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, MO. Internment was held at St. Charles Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Lindenwood University. Mrs. Hollander joined her husband on their 62nd wedding anniversary—May 26, 2010. “Because of you my life is now worthwhile and I can smile because of you.”
