Stephen Foster Bogar

Stephen “Steve” Foster Bogar, age 82, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Abbey Senior Health Center in O’Fallon, Missouri.  Steve and his wife Fran recently celebrated 61 years of marriage and were together at his passing along with their two sons, Dave and Allen Bogar.

Born in Freeman, Missouri, Steve was the son of Alvah and Neta Mae (Martin) Bogar.  He attended Freeman High School and was employed by AT&T/Southwestern Bell Telephone as a lineman/installer for 41 years until his retirement in 1999.

Steve is survived by his wife, Merle Francine (“Fran”) Bogar, two sisters, Bev Irvin and family and Gayle King and family, two children and their spouses, Dave (Julie) Bogar and Allen (Debbie) Bogar, five grandchildren, Amber (Josh) Krohn, Katy (Rob) Gantz, Adam (Erin) Bogar, Timothy Bogar, and Justin Bogar, and five great-grandchildren, Leah Gantz, Chloe Gantz, Tony Gantz, Jackson Krohn, and Ava Krohn.  He was preceded in death by his son, Darell Edward Bogar.

Services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Baue Funeral Home Cave Springs, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, MO 63301.  Public visitation will begin at 10:00 am, a memorial service at 12:00 pm, and interment at St. Charles Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.  Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate) or First St. Charles United Methodist Church, St. Charles, Missouri (www.firststcharlesumc.org).  Steve’s family is so grateful for the outpouring of love and support – thank you all so much.  Special thanks to the team at the Abbey for their care during this time.
