Loving husband of 36 years to Debra (nee Zibrowski) Sanders; beloved son of Shirley (nee Martin) and the late Ralph Sanders; devoted father of Kate (Phil Kraft) Sanders, and Christine Sanders; cherished grandfather of Vivian Kraft; step-grandfather of Declan Kraft; dear brother of Susan (David) Dunn and Scott (Cathleen) Sanders; brother-in-law of Dennis (Cheryl) Zibrowski, Dawn (Tim) Mysliwiec, David (Yvonne) Zibrowski, and Doug (Beth) Zibrowski; treasured uncle of Emily, Matt, Olivia, Chloe, Jaimie, Amanda, Marie, Matt, Amy Jo, Sara, Heather, Philip, Jon, and Megan; dear friend to many. Steve was a member of the American Legion Post 312 Sons of The American Legion, First Capitol Lions Club – St Charles, and First St Charles United Methodist Church. He graduated St. Charles High School in 1975 and went on to attend Missouri Southern in Joplin on a baseball scholarship. He played baseball in high school, college and EMBA and was a proud supporter of the American Legion Baseball program. Steve worked as an insurance agent and sold fireplaces before joining NOA medical as a sales representative, where he eventually retired in 2020. He loved being surrounded by family and friends and always found a reason to entertain, most often in his backyard where he could be found drinking a cold beer by the pool. Steve was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
