Susan C. VanBooven (nee Black), of O Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Deacon Howard VanBooven; cherished daughter of the late Steve and Dorothy Black; devoted mother of Howard (Dawn) VanBooven II and Steve (Ashley) VanBooven; loving grandmother of Brendan VanBooven, Blake VanBooven, Allison VanBooven and Peyton VanBooven; step-grandmother of Riley Richards, Madison Richards and Casey Richards; twin sister of Sandra Alessi and the late Richard Black; beloved sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Susan was a woman of faith and was dedicated to Assumption Catholic Church in O’Fallon, Missouri. She served and supported alongside her husband, Deacon Howard in many areas of ministry. Susan and her identical twin sister, Sandra, were inseparable, their two families were joined as one. Susan enjoyed being with friends and family. One of her favorite times with family was Friday Night VanBooven/Swoboda Aggravation Club. Susan loved her family dearly; her greatest joy was her two sons and her grandchildren. Susan was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made in Susan's name to Melanoma Cancer Society.
