Susan Marie "Susie" Phelps

Susan Marie Phelps (Lay), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the age of 70. Beloved wife of the late Bryan K. Phelps Sr.; cherished daughter of the late Patsy Lee and Robert N. Lay Sr. Devoted mother of Bryan K. (Tiffany) Phelps Jr., Kira Marie (Aaron Hawkins Sr.) Phelps-Hawkins, and the late Timothy R. Phelps; loving grandmother of Ashley  (Ed), Heather Leigh, Marissa Kylie, Morgan Joseph Robert, Alexus, A.J., Conner, and Trenten; treasured great-grandmother of Malayna Janeé and Marlee Lynn; dear sister of Robert "Bobby" N. (Susie) Lay Jr. and Johnny R. (Amy) Lay; fur baby, Gracie. She will be missed by her forever friends; beloved niece, aunt, cousin, and a friend to many.

Susie was devoted to her family and was a loving sister, mom, and grandma. The joy of her life was her grandchildren and her Gracie, “Grammy's Baby.” Susie was an honest, faithful, and loyal friend. She loved her Baue family and her work daughters, as well as her Flower Stand family.

Susie loved going to the beach; it was her happy place. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she felt most relaxed and content. Susie made her yearly trips to the beach with her family and forever friends, a time for them to reconnect, strengthen their bonds, and create new memories together. Their trips were filled with laughter, shared stories, and countless memorable moments. Susie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
