Susan Kay Rickman (nee Benda), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 73. Beloved wife of the late Eddie Rickman; Cherished daughter of the late Vera Davis and the late William Robert Benda; devoted mother of Edie Oberhelman (Tony Dewrock), and the late Jeffrey Rickman; loving grandmother of Joshua (Krista) Rickman, Erika Oberhelman, Alek (Kayla) Oberhelman, Dawson Rickman, Tobias Rickman, Keola Rickman, Alex (Sydney) Ortiz, Logan Ortiz, Alayna Ortiz, and the late Alexis Rickman; precious great grandmother of Ava Harness, Ella Oberhelman, Adely Ortiz, Arlee Ortiz, and Emerie Rickman; beloved aunt of Dennis (Kevin) Benda, and Alisa Benda, and special friend of Kim, Tammy, and Brenda.
Susan, affectionately known as Maw Maw Sue by her grandchildren, was an immensely caring individual who cherished her family, especially her beloved dog, Kotton. Renowned for her strong organizational skills, unwavering support, loyalty, and passion, Sue was a formidable woman. Her love extended beyond her family to encompass a deep appreciation for animals, and she consistently looked out for her loved ones, maintaining regular contact with everyone. Her specialty was her famous spaghetti, she adored the color pink, and her favorite animal was the cardinal bird. Sue found joy in activities such as fishing, exploring estate sales, collecting antiques, and relishing the company of family during gatherings. Her interests also included the simple pleasure of watching the Kardashians. Susan's presence was truly treasured, and her absence leaves a profound void that will be keenly felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Memorials may be made in Susan's name to Kennett Humane Department.
