Suzanne M. Hills (nee Dieker), of Quincy, Illinois, passed peacefully early Friday morning, January 6, 2023, at the age of 73. Beloved mother of Tara (Bill) Dubuque; loving partner of Clarence J. “C.J” Morris; devoted daughter of the late John and Rita Dieker and the dear sister of Rita Harney, Justine Peters, and Connie (Dave) Allton. Suzanne was Grandma Hokey-Pokey to Wyatt, Lauren, and Nathan Dubuque and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Suzanne worked at the Illinois Veterans Home for over three decades, first as a CNA then a Registered Nurse. Suzie was big-hearted, sympathetic and kind. This compassionate spirit informed all aspects of her life, counting both people and animals as patients. She loved her country home; tending a garden filled with vegetables and flowers, nurturing a mini-farm bustling with horses, cats, goats and ducks. She was very artistic, creating beautiful sketches and drawings.
Family meant everything to Suzie, and she cherished her role as mother. C.J was the love of her life, and she was very close to sisters Justine, Connie, and Rita. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren.
Suzanne was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Humane Society.
