Sylvester Anthony Echele

Sylvester Anthony Echele, 96, of St. Charles, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 at SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. He was the husband of the late Clarice Marie Ell. Born January 14, 1916 in Black Walnut; he was the son of the late Joseph Anthony and Mary Frances (Martineau) Echele. He was a farmer in Machens before moving to St. Charles in 1952 where he became a long time employee of the St. Charles Clinic. Mr. Echele is survived by son Herbert Echele and wife Vita (Palazzola); daughter-in-law Sharon (Hackman) Echele; daughters Joan Stockman and husband Dennis and Mary McKuin and husband Daniel; grandchildren Lori (Echele) Boster and husband Christopher, Tracey (Echele) Disser and husband Michael, Stephanie McKuin, Kevin Stockman, Jennifer Echele and fiance Christopher Hummel, Michelle (McKuin) Dohrman and husband Daniel, Juile (Echele) Chidster and husband Matthew and Karen (Stockman) Clifford and husband Jacob; great-grandchildren Joshua Echele, Megan and Andrew Boster, Allison and Daniel Disser and Elizabeth Dohrman; sister-in-law Rosa Lee (Dubois) Echele; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Echele, one daughter Margaret Ann Echele; brothers Aloysius, Carl, Richard, Victor and Paul; sisters Mary Stahlschmidt and Lillian Jefferson. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of SSM St. Joseph Health Center for all of their kindness and compassion.
