Sylvester T. Volz, Jr., of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the age of 88. Loving husband of 58 years to the late June Volz; beloved son of the late Sylvester T. Sr. and Wilhelmina Volz; devoted father of Joyce (Marvin) Glore, Ken (Dianna) Volz, and the late Gail Volz; cherished grandfather of Lyndsay (Brandon) Kalista and Kelsey Glore; dear brother of Robert (Janet) Volz.
Sylvester proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Home Federal Savings and Loan after 25 years as a real estate appraisor, but continued to working in the industry for 25 years more. He was a private pilot and loved to fly. As an adventurer, Syl traveled all across America with his wife in their RV and visited all 50 states. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity on many projects. He tinkered about on just about anything he could get his hands on, and was known as “Mr. Duck Tape” to his family. He even built a small hotrod car with his son. He was a very active member at Calvary U.C.C. in Overland, and sang in the choir. He was also a member of the St. Peters Choral Society. Syl was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
