Sylvia Ann Gaines
July 3, 1940 — September 25, 2021
Sylvia Ann Gaines of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Marie Winka.
Sylvia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Frank “Bud” Gaines; her children, Denise (Chris) Wood, Betty (Robert) Carpenter, Alan (Connie) Gaines, Judy (Chris) Bradley, and John (Rhonda) Gaines; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Jan) Winka; and she was a loving sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Sylvia had a loving, generous spirit and she volunteered for everything. Wherever there was a cause for her to help, she was there. She donated baby blankets to Cardinal Glennon, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital St. Louis and a lot of good came from her work. Sylvia was truly always there for anyone in need. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation. The Gaines family requests no flowers, only plants and/or donation.
