Thomas Jay “Tom” Garwood, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at the age of 66. Cherished son of the late Donald M. and Elizabeth Runge Garwood; dear brother of Elizabeth Rea (Robert W.) Phillips; loving uncle of Christina (James) Phillips, and great uncle of Bodie James Phillips; beloved dog dad of Sophie; special friend of Vic. Tom was also preceded in death by his former wife, Denise Garwood.
Tom was a compassionate and generous individual, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His passion for boating led him to spend his free time remodeling a boat, relishing the tranquility of the water and frequenting the Lake of the Ozarks. With a wide circle of friends, Tom was cherished by many. His deep Catholic faith and love for animals were evident in his daily life, alongside his knack for craftsmanship and eagerness to assist others with their endeavors. Tom's intelligence and strong work ethic were evident throughout his life, from his achievements as an Eagle Scout to his membership in Pi Kappa Alpha at Missouri State, where he earned a BS in computer technology. He prioritized integrity and kindness above all else, values instilled in him since his days on the high school golf team, where he forged lifelong friendships. Whether savoring Christmas festivities or enjoying a glass of wine with loved ones, Tom's presence brought warmth and joy to those around him. His memory will be cherished dearly, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Memorials may be made in Tom's name to the Humane Society of Missouri or the American Cancer Society.
