Thomas Hays

Thomas Henry Hays, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 61 years to Violet Hays; cherished son of the late Thomas and Opal Hays; devoted father of Kimberly Diane Hays, Cynthia Renee Hays and Petrece Lynn (Dion) Metz; loving grandfather of Jordan Thomas Metz and Erin Nicole Metz; dear brother of the late Roy Hays and the late Myrtle Hays; Thomas was a wonderful uncle, brother-in-law and friend to many.  

Thomas devoted his life to education and coaching youth; he was a math teacher and coach for over 30 years before retiring in 1992.  

Thomas was a devout man of faith, served as Deacon and an active member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles. He was a very kind and gentle man with a warm heart.  

In his free time, he was an avid sports fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and never missed a game. He loved fishing and playing a good game of Bridge; he played for more than 40 years with a group of his friends each month. Thomas was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Memorials may be made in Thomas’ name to American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
