Thomas L. Borgmeyer, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the age of 88. Devoted father of Susan Garland, Ellen (Jack) Parker, Don Borgmeyer and Karen (David) Toigo; loving grandfather of Jill (Brad) Blanc, Andrew (Mercedes) Allen, Michael (Maggie) Toigo, T.J. (Abbey Zang) Allen, Sam (Frances Fechter) Toigo and Samantha (Dakota) Kisiel and great-grandfather of Helen Weber and Oliver Thomas Kisiel. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Borgmeyer, his parents, Joseph and Agnes Borgmeyer, two sisters, Rosemary Kruel and Janet Friedman and four brothers, Joseph Borgmeyer, Jr., Gerald Borgmeyer, Harold Borgmeyer and Norbert Borgmeyer.
Tom was very hard-working. He worked for American Clothing on Main Street for 6 years. He also served in the United States Army for 2 years. He spent the beginning of his professional career as a purchaser for a number of companies, including McDonnell Aircraft, Emerson Electric, and Meyer Labs. For the last 25 years of his career, he served as Materials Manager for St. Louis University Hospital. Tom volunteered for many organizations over the years, including St. Charles County Historical Society where he was a member of the board of directors and former president. He worked with St. Charles County Convention and Visitors Bureau as a volunteer as well.
Tom enjoyed many hobbies. He was very interested in family genealogy and was able to trace his family history back to their ancestors in Germany. Tom and Jackie loved to travel. They took many cruises, road trips with family and friends, and vacationed with grandchildren. Tom was a family man; his family meant the world to him, and he spent a lot of quality time with them. He took pride in the appearance of his yard and enjoyed doing yard work. He had a great sense of humor that everyone loved. Tom was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Tom's name to Alzheimer's Association.
