Thomas R. Luecke
December 29, 1945 — April 19, 2022
Thomas R. Luecke, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the age of 76. Loving husband of Catherine Luecke; beloved son of the late Rudolph and Marie Luecke; devoted father of Timothy (Melissa) Luecke and Patrick (Anne) Luecke; cherished grandfather of Ellen Luecke, Anderson Luecke, Nicholas Luecke, Olivia Luecke, Jackson Luecke, Dominic Luecke, and the late Helen Luecke; dear brother of Jerome (Helen) Luecke and Yvonne (the late Ron) Latcheran. Thomas proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Flight Medic for 4 years, and additionally served in the Air Forces Reserves for two years. He received a bachelor’s in Mortuary Science and worked his career as an embalmer for 27 years. As a family man, Thomas was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He always looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was loving, caring, and selfless. He was a lifelong optimist who was high on life. He was funny and had a great sense of humor. As a music enthusiast, Thomas loved classical music. He loved watching movies and had an extensive collection of Sci-Fi movies. Thomas loved to travel and effortlessly planned his trips with extensive detail. He truly enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises, as well as visiting historical monuments and national parks. Thomas was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor Recipient. He also received the District Award of Merit, the Silver Beaver from the Greater St. Louis Area Council, and the Founders Award. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Football team and a season ticket holder for many years. Thomas also loved to watch English Premiere League Soccer. Thomas was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in Thomas's name to Siteman Cancer Center or Greater St. Louis Area Council Camp Staff Scholarship Fund.
