Sgt. Maj. Thomas O. Shannon

Sgt. Maj. Thomas O. Shannon, of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Naomi Shannon; cherished son of the late James and Virginia Shannon; devoted father of Becky (Charles) Blyth and Michael Shannon; loving grandfather of Abrielle, Brayden, Brianna, Chloe and David; dear brother of Gene (Carol) Shannon, Sherrie (Tony) Akridge, Chrissy O'Neil, Doug (Barb) Shannon, Joe (Diane) Shannon, Kenny Shannon, Gaydean Kirby, the late Lester Oliphant, the late Ruth Batchelor, the late Danny Shannon and the late James Shannon.

Thomas proudly and honorably served in the United States Army for 40 years, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2886. He also worked at Nabisco but was activated several times while working there. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, traveling, watching Cardinals baseball and most of all, being a pappy. Thomas was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
