Thomas W. Michener

Thomas W. Michener, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017.  Loving husband of 58 years to Donna M. Michener; beloved son of the late Virgil E. and Marjorie Michener; devoted father of  Jeff (Jean) Michener, Timothy (Karla) Michener, Christine Thompson, and Michael (April) Michener; cherished grandfather of Allison (Brian) Zamkus, Jordan Michener, Allie (Derek) Dolan,  Emily (Kyle) Strohbehn, Levi Michener, Arron Thompson, and Dawn Thompson; treasured great-grandfather of Amara Thompson, Haven Dolan, and River Dolan; dear brother of  Steve (Diana) Michener; dearest brother-in-law of Blanche Michener and Guy Patten.  Thomas was also preceded in death by his siblings Richard Michener, Colleen Patten, and infant sister, Cathy Michener.

Tom retired from Wisconsin Central after more than 44 years in the Railroad Industry.  He was devoted to his faith, and was a member of Immaculate Conception at Dardenne Prairie, where his favorite part of mass was when the children brought up their offerings.  He enjoyed hunting, coaching youth sports teams, and playing slow-pitch softball.  In his spare time, Tom was a volunteer firefighter.  He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids and his new dog, Jax.  As a pastime, he also enjoyed birdwatching.  He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
