Todd Douglas Thomas, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the age of 49. Loving husband of Brandi Thomas; devoted father of Kaiya Leigh Thomas; son of the late Burnett Truman Thomas, Jr. and Phyllis K (Lee) Bement Thomas Miesner; brother to Bradley (Sarah) Thomas; and dear uncle to Aiden Thomas. Todd was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Burnett T. Thomas, Sr. and Ethell Calhoun.
Todd will always be remembered and adored for his keen sense of humor, his quick wit and being as dry as the Mojave Desert. Todd’s delivery of one liners, zingers, and quips were so well timed only a slight twinkle in his eye and a sly grin would let on that his statement was in jest and not to be taken seriously. Todd was the king of deadpan deliveries, often leaving his audience wondering “is this guy freaking serious?”
Todd was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp., receiving the title of Corporal. He was a graduate of the Eastern Missouri Police Academy where he graduated in 2004. Todd joined Woodson Terrace Police Department in May of 2015 after serving nine years with the Breckenridge Hills Police Department.
Todd had a love of writing which was clearly on display as he corrected and amended officer’s reports in his role as a police Sergeant for Woodson Terrace, and OH BOY did he love his red pens. Even as a rookie patrolman, Todd and his writing skills would often be summoned by more experienced officers to help describe and articulate difficult situations in a linear, readable manner. Todd loved his officers, loved being a cop, and loved being a mentor to the young officers that came up behind him.
In his free time, Todd lived his life traveling to the beach each year and never saying no to a destination wedding or trip. He enjoyed smoking some good BBQ and spending time at the “Thompound”. He was devoted to his wife Brandi, they were blessed to be able to share 22 years together. He loved his family more than anything, especially Kaiya. Todd was dearly adored and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but maybe not his late-night texts.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial trust fund has been set up in his daughter Kaiya's name. Please make these donations to Brandi.
After the conclusion of funeral services, please join Todd’s family for a celebration of life at Townsquare Pub and Grub, 7843 Townsquare Ave., Dardenne Prairie, MO 63368 from 3:00 pm until 5:00pm.
