Erma "Tommye" T. Bishop

Erma “Tommye” T. Bishop (nee Long), of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” S. Bishop; cherished daughter of the late Tommy and Nettie Long. Devoted mother of Rebecca Bishop and Janie (Mark) Willman; loving grandmother of Jeremiah Bishop. Tommye is preceded in death by six siblings. She is also survived by her sister, Brenda (Vince) Vitale, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who she dearly loved. 

Tommye lived by faith through her ministries at multiple childcare facilities most recently at Kids Kingdom Christian Center. Her life’s work was to plant the gospel seed in the hearts and minds of little children while also ministering to their families. Her love and generosity were selfless and boundless. Tommye spent much of her Adult Christian walk at First Baptist in O'Fallon and Family Fellowship Church in St. Peters. In her free time, Tommye loved to travel, spend time with family and friends, and was always looking forward to the next building project. She will be remembered as a woman who fiercely loved Jesus, who lived and walked by faith through scripture and song, and who was a good and faithful servant. Tommye was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tommye's name to Samaritans Purse or Wounded Warriors.
