Tory Hamby

Tory Hamby, of Citra, FL, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the age of 52. Beloved wife of Jon Hamby; devoted mother of Joshua (Maritza Gonzales) James Hamby and Derek (Chelsea Langendoerfer) Edwin Hamby; loving grandmother of Jullien Russell James Hamby and Skylyn Jean Hamby.

Tory was born and raised in St. Peters, Missouri. She met Jon through a mutual friend in their teenage years and they were married shortly after.  They moved to Foristell where Jon built the home himself and together they built their family with their two boys.  After their children moved out to begin their adult lives, Tory was happy to be transferred to Florida (and its beaches) for work, which was also closer to some of Jon’s family members. Despite a few moves back-and-forth to Missouri for family, Tory and Jon found their true feeling of home in the warm weather and sands of Florida. She loved the beach, soaking in the sun, and the feel of the waves. Tory’s favorite travel destination was Jamaica, where she visited many times. Tory was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial donations can be made in Tory’s name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
