Valerie L. Darter

Went to sleep in heavenly peace and was called to home to the purest place we call Heaven on Friday, June 25^th at the age of 73. Loving wife of the late John Darter and formerly the late John Spear; dear mother of the late Darren Spear and Sherry (Alan) Chappell-Profancik; loving grandmother of Blake and Andrew Spear, Malerie (George Heyduke) and Sierra (Tyler Sims) Chappell; loving greatgrandmother; dear sister of Robert (Annette) Hunt Jr. and Irene (Dave) Comer; dear daughter of Robert Sr. and Louella Hunt.

Mom lived in Salem for 26 years where she worked for 11 years at Austin Restaurant. She later relocated back to St. Charles where she was a Ponderosa restaurant Manager for her brother-in-law’s family business. She later became a receptionist at Rothman Furniture and MTM Medical Transport. After her retirement she ended up back in Salem near her beloved daughter. Over the years she loved to fish, camp, ride motorcycles, shop, decorate her house, and she most of all loved spending all the time she could with her family and especially her sister Irene.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Valerie’s name may be made to the American Lung Association.
