Velma Loraine Dean (nee Amschler), of Highland, IL, formerly of St. Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Robert I. Dean; cherished daughter of the late John and Hilda Amschler; devoted mother of the late James R. Miesner, and the late Janet A. Luna; loving grandmother of Keith (Gayla) Weber, Kurt (Sarah) Weber, Kent (Tina) Weber, Alicia (Craig) Rednour, Aaron (Lindsey) Miesner, and Bethany (Justin) Parker; treasured great grandmother of Matthew Weber, Ryan Weber, Tori Luna, Grant Rednour, Madalyn Rednour, Nathan Miesner, Jackson Miesner, Max Miesner, Isaac Parker, and Ariana Parker; beloved aunt and friend. Velma was also preceded in death by four dear siblings, two brothers, Raymond Amschler, Lawrence Amschler, and two sisters, Bernice Chadwick, and Gladys Borrenpohl.
Velma was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge # 837 for 71 years. She retired from McDonnell Douglas after many years of dedicated service. Velma always loved to travel and listen to music. She was especially fond of polka music. Velma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Velma's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
