Velma Jean Carey (nee DaVault), of O Fallon, MO, passed away Thursday, March 18 at the age of 74. Wife of Gene Carey. Cherished daughter of the late Charles and Gladys DaVault; devoted mother of Vicky (Mark) Whitehead and the late Angela Dawn Barnett and stepson Gene (Shelley) Carey; Treasured Grandma of Danielle (Kirk) Hoggatt and Austin Whitehead; dear sister of the late Evelyn “Sue” Schmidt and Robert (Kay) DaVault; loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Velma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Burial services will be private, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Velma’s honor to Evelyn’s House.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Baue Funeral Homes does require all family members and guests to wear a mask while visiting our facilities. Social distancing is required, and guests should stay at least 6 feet apart. Thank you for your understanding.
