Vera L. Zammito

Vera Lou Zammito (nee Manes) of Maryland Heights, MO, passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, November 30, 2018. Vera is preceded in death by her parents, William Clifford Manes and Clara Mildred Manes (nee Cunningham); her stepmother, Mildred Manes; and her brothers and sisters, Shirley (Joe) Sutton, Michael Manes, Melvin Manes, Sandra (Ray) Depew, and Charles Manes.

Vera is survived by her children, Christine (Steve) Wilhelm, Nicholas (Laura) Zammito, and Kathleen Lambert.; her grandchildren, Alyssa Wilhelm, Matthew Wilhelm, Joshua (Adrienne) Zammito, Deborah (Vern) Porter, Krista Cooperman, Stephen Lambert, Ryan Lambert, and Jason Lambert; her great-grandchildren, Tyson Foder, Hunter Porter, Ryann Foder, Joshua Zammito Jr., and Percy Zammito; and her brothers and sisters, William C. (Kathy) Manes, Sally (Gene) Butler, Danny (Karen) Manes, Judy (Pat) Harmon, and Tari (Mike) Alcorn.

Vera prided herself on being active in her community and was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church in Bridgeton, the Telephone Pioneers, and the Red Hat Society where she made so many friends and memories. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary (Post 9934) where she helped with donations to honor our nation’s veterans. One of Vera’s favorite hobbies was gardening, and she grew beautiful plants and flowers over the years. Vera loved her pets and it was obvious to all who knew her how much she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and remembered by her friends and family.
