Verlie Lynn Crockett of Wentzville, Missouri died on Thursday December 20, 2018 at the age of 72. Preceded in death by cherished parents Oscar D. and Sarah Crockett; Dear Brothers, Kenneth Crockett, Gaylord Crockett and Deved Crockett; survived by beloved wife, LaUna Crockett; devoted children, Oscar D. Crockett, II, Tamia Crockett, Valerie Clark; loving grandfather to, Tanisha Wilson, LeAndrea Johnson-Crockett, Aaron Crockett, Jasmine Morton, Raven McNeil, Quinton Williams, special grandson Steven Lynn Crockett, Nevaeh Hawkins, Aaliya Clark; dear siblings; Curtis Larry (Angie) Crockett, Kathleen Foster and Karen (Rodney) Webster; treasured great-grandfather to 9 great-grandchildren and also survived by in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Verlie was born in Centerville, Illinois. He and LaUna were married for 52 years and shared a wonderful life together raising their beautiful children. Verlie was a dedicated public servant in St. Clair County as Deputy Sheriff. He was a proud member of Labor Local 100 and co-owner of Crockett Construction. He had a strong work ethic. Verlie had a strong faith in God and attended First Baptist of Golden Gardens. He enjoyed bowling and loved not only to listen to music but also played tenor saxophone. He will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
