Branneky, Vernon H. (Bud) died peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024. He was the son of the late Hildegard and Herbert Branneky. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Genelle (nee Phillips). He is survived by his two daughters, SuAnne B. Aune and Jane K. Branneky.

After graduation from Pattonville High in 1944, he enlisted in the US Army Specialized Training Program. He was Sergeant Major of the 5th Replacement Depot in Luzon, Philippines. Upon return, he enrolled at Elmhurst College and graduated in 1949, and then went to Washington University and received an MBA in 1950.

He was Executive Director of The Electrochemical Society, founded in 1902, an international educational organization. Upon retirement, he was awarded honorary membership in the Society. He was an emeritus member of the Council of Engineering & Scientific Executives, served seven years on the board and was president for 1986-1987. He was also a member of NJ Society of Association Executives and served 15 years on the Advisory Board of the Materials Research Society.
