Vesta I. Hawkins

Vesta I. Hawkins of Bridgeton, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, at the age of 82.  Loving wife of 50 years to the late Douglas Hawkins; beloved daughter of the late James and Ina Crow; devoted mother of Gary (Karen) Hawkins and Vicki (Doug) Witte; cherished grandmother of Benjamin (Laura) Hawkins, Brian (Judith) Witte, Lisa (Andrew) Hale, Greg (Katie) Hawkins, Lara (Sam) Abdallah; treasured great-grandmother of Mason Hale, Logan Hawkins, Hannah Witte, Sarah Witte, Mylie Hale, Lila Abdallah, McKinley Hale, Beau Hawkins, Quinn Hawkins, Madden Hale, and Baylor Hawkins; and dear sister Wanda Bilderback and Fern Stephens.  Vesta is preceded in death by her siblings Charles, Bertha, Irene, Marie, Jeannetta, Pauline, Virginia, Margie, Raymond, Eldon, and Kenneth.

Vesta had the gift of hospitality and love to care and prepare meals for her family and friends.  She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, reading books, and working word search puzzles.  Vesta was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church.  She also worked over 25 years caring for infants and toddlers at a Mother’s Day Out program for Arlington United Methodist Church.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
