Viola C. Engel

Viola Catherine Engel (nee Hollander), of Wentzville, MO, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the age of 91. Cherished daughter of the late John and Alma Hollander; devoted mother of Stephen P. (Mary) Engel, and the late Judith Ann Cody and Richard Wayne Engel; loving grandmother of Renee (Bruce) Brown, Jena (James) Spinner, Brian Engel, Jonathan Engel, Evan Engel (Godchild), Steven Engel, and Lauren Engel; treasured great-grandmother of three; dear sister of Adele Schulte. Viola is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

Viola was a very devout and faithful Catholic, and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church and a member of the Legion of Mary. She retired from St. Charles School District after a 27-year career, and in her free time she enjoyed crocheting, reading books, working crossword puzzles, and even fishing in her younger years. She was very generous and kind, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Viola was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
