Virginia "Jinny" L. Hurt, age 82, of Wentzville, Missouri, Formerly of , died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Jonesburg Nursing and Rehabilitation, Jonesburg. A Daughter of the late Alma James Hurt and Emmett Hurt. Virginia "Jinny" L. was born on November 26, 1927, at Union City, Tennessee. Virginia "Jinny" L. was one of the founders of MO NEA, MO NEA Retired and Parkway NEA; charter member of Green Trail Methodist; received Pillar of Parkway; graduate of Murray College at age 20; received a Master’s Degree; negotiated first Teacher retirement package at Parkway; worked summers at Oak Ridge Laboratory in Tennessee while attending college; was a member of Wentzville United Methodist Church, a trustee and chairperson of the Trustees Jinny taught math and PE and was the volleyball coach in Lilburn, MO. She came to Parkway in 1968 and was chair of the math department until her retirement in 1982, After retiring from Parkway, she taught part time for Jefferson College until 1991. Jinny volunteered much time and talent to the WUMC Adopt-A-Family Ministry. Jinny is survived by her Life Long Companion, Germaine "Gerrie" Brodeur of Wentzville, Missouri, Sister, Montez Taylor of Jackson, Tennessee, Sister, Grace Ritchey of Wichita Falls, Texas, Brother, John Hurt of Tupelo, Mississippi and nephew, Russ Lacewell, whom she raised. Beloved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews and a friend to many. Jinny was preceded in death by Billie Frank, Brother; Gladys Lacewell, Sister; Mildred Glover, Sister; Russell Laceweth, Nephew; Kevin Brodeur, Godson Those wishing to honor Jinny's memory may send memorial contributions in her name to the Wentzville United Methodist Church Pastor Fund.
