Virginia M. Burkemper

Virginia M. Burkemper (NEE: Griesenauer), of St. Charles, Missouri, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the age of 88. She was the loving wife of the late Jerome Burkemper; beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Alvina Griesenauer; devoted mother of Mary Jane (Rusty) Shelley, Susan (Michael) McClintock, Tim (Debbie) Burkemper, and Dawn (Dan) Plackemeier; cherished grandmother of Kristi, Craig, Jaime, Ashley, Amber, Chad, Kyle, Cody, Brittany, Zach, and Morgan; "GiGi" to 5 great-grandchildren; and dear sister of Ray Griesenauer and Alice Griesenauer. She is preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Virginia worked side by side with her husband for over 45 years building their family business. Virginia was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan; she loved to play card games, play bingo and being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Cletus Parish. Memorials may be made to Duchesne High School Capital Campaign or St. Cletus Parish.
