Goodland, Kansas

Virginia A. Warakomski (nee Waldin), of Goodland, KS, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late John Warakomski; cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Estelle Waldin; devoted mother of Mary Ellen (John) Coumerilh and John Michael “Mike” (Janet) Warakomski; loving grandmother of Benjamin (Audry) Coumerilh, Michael (Marla) Coumerilh, Matthew (Chance) Warakomski and Christopher (Kayla) Warakomski; treasured great-grandmother of Kylee Addison, Gracie Warakomski, Kaitlyn Coumerilh, John Coumerilh, Hannah Coumerilh, Madison Coumerilh, Riley Coumerilh, and Elijah Coumerilh; dear sister of the late Theresa Buck, the late Joseph Waldin and the late Paul Waldin.

Virginia was an active member of the Goodland Kansas community. She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland and even played the organ during Mass. Virginia also volunteered at a local thrift shop.

Virginia was an avid gardener and quilter. In her spare time, she enjoyed her Tuesday afternoon sewing group, her monthly musical group, weekly yoga club and working on jigsaw puzzles with her family. Virginia was a lifelong learner, she was taking piano lessons even at her advanced age. 

Virginia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
