Vivian JoAn Sherk (nee: Smith), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the age of 92. Beloved daughter of the late Benton Watson and Ruby Fern Smith; devoted mother of Donna Sherk (Richard) Cunningham and Cara Elizabeth (Gail) Edmunds; dear grandmother (“Grams”) of Sara (Mike) Hanes, Kyle (Haylee) Orf, JoAnna (Rob) Rothweiler, Chad (Christina) Larkowski, Erin (Robbie) del Rosario, Brett (Blake) Larkowski, and Colin (Bailey) Edmunds; treasured great-grandmother (“G.G. Jo”) of Michelle, Noah, Lorrie, Harper, Reese, Kyden, Charles, Otto, Andrew, Raegan, Easton, Michael, John, Callie, and Cami; and mother in law of Brian (Autumn) Larkowski.
JoAn is preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Sherk, daughter Cynthia (“Cindi”) J. Larkowski, mother-in-law Maria Sherk, and two brothers, David Smith and Benton Watson Smith, Jr.
JoAn was a lifelong member of the Webster Groves Herb Society where she would enjoy maintaining the herb garden at the Historic Hawken House in Webster Groves. JoAn was a homemaker all of her life and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. JoAn was an animal lover and showed dogs including her Champion Standard Schnauzer, Kartch. JoAn was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her dear friends Patti and Honey and all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in JoAn’s name to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
