Wilson; loving father of Butch (Bobbie) Wilson, Cecelia Layfield, Kathy (Mike) Mantia, Michael (Karen) Wilson, Mary Beth (William) Goodnick; loving grandfather of Rick Wilson, Chris (Meg) Layfield, Tony (Kiera) Wilson, Nick Mantia, Ben Wilson, Christina Goodnick and great-grandfather of Kavin Wilson, Riley Layfield, Kolton Wilson, Adrian Layfield and Kiya Wilson - Dear son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Walter was the fifth child of 13 born to Alfred & Eliza Wilson, September 9, 1922, Litchfield, Illinois. Walter retired from General Cable Corporation, St. Louis, Missouri after 41 years of dedicated service. After retiring he kept busy at Lindenwood College as one of the grounds keepers. He loved to fish and was a member of the Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of IBEW. He also was able to spend more time on his favorite hobby, lawn mower repair, and he was the best! Yearly trips to Florida gave him the opportunity to go deep sea and surf fishing or witness the beautiful sunsets over the ocean. A Cardinal’s fan all the way, retirement provided the time to follow the games. Always involved in the St. Peters community, supported local improvement to activities and services. A family man from the heart, his greatest joy was anytime spent with his family. His sweet smile and loving nature will live on in his memory.
